A BOARD READINESS INITIATIVE BY DEERFIELD MANAGEMENT AND CURE
Preparing accomplished women to lead from the boardroom
Grow to Govern connects women executives with healthcare organizations, helping to guide emerging leaders toward the seats where decisions are made.
OUR PURPOSE
We connect healthcare organizations with the women ready to govern them, in service of greater impact and better outcomes for all.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
Grow to Govern builds on the legacy of Break into the Boardroom (BiB), founded in 2015 by Deerfield and Oxeon to cultivate a new generation of female board candidates and guide them toward high-impact leadership.

01 Source
We help find women who have the experience, interest, and drive to serve as value-adding board members for companies and organizations in the healthcare space.
02 Prepare
As candidates prepare to enter the boardroom, we equip them with the tools and confidence they need to increase their odds of success.
03 Connect
We help candidates formulate their individual value proposition and connect with the decision-makers who drive board composition.

Leslie Henshaw, Founder of Grow to Govern and Partner at Deerfield Management
“The right board doesn’t happen by accident - it’s built with intent.
Finding directors who bring judgement, diversity of experience, and courage to challenge assumptions not only improves decision-making, but builds a strategic asset that increases a company’s odds of success.”
Engage with our community
We encourage seasoned executives and board members to nominate rising women executives who are prepared to serve on healthcare company or healthcare non-profit boards. We do not accept self-nominations.
